Claire Steffek is soon to be a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) who attended the University of Denver for a Master’s in International Disaster Psychology and Bachelor’s in Psychology, International Studies, and Italian. She specializes in trauma recovery with a person-centered approach and incorporates motivational interviewing within client sessions. She has experience running mental health rhythmic groups in Grenada, West Indies, and worked to respond to the mental health needs after Hurricane Beryl. Therapeutic art activities are a strength of hers, which she enjoys incorporating into group therapy settings. She has also worked as a therapist at the Trauma and Disaster Recovery Clinic and Sandstone Care, where she worked to address substance use issues for young adults and adolescents. Claire is passionate about helping clients help themselves especially through the struggles of addiction.
