Jill Murphy immigrated to the U.S. from Ireland in 1994 and immediately signed up to serve in the U.S. Army, where she served for 17 years. The last 6 years were spent as an Army nurse, including a deployment to Iraq in the intensive care unit of a combat support hospital. She received her undergraduate nursing education at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and her graduate education at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Campus, where she specialized in adult and geriatric primary care. Jill has experience in corrections nursing, and her special area of interest in the last four years has been addiction medicine, which is where her passion lies. Her hobbies include cycling, various other outdoor fitness pursuits, reading, traveling and spending time with her 5-pound Chihuahua, Tazzy.
